The great Gatsby has opened my eyes beyond my syndical view of the American Dream. I realize now the american dream is much more than a hope of getting ahead in life. It is a dream of freedom. Freedom from a government who cares not for the common worker. Free from a government that gives privilege to the rich, the religious, or the military. This freedom is given in human rights and in economic mobility. The American Dream is a dream of freedom, And that dream is my dream.
