Forgive my socialist outlook on the subject but the current America does follow this creed of take to succeed. If you are able to amass enough wealth weather the means are legal or not you can take control of the governmental authorities and the media. I don’t agree that those who take the most are the smartest but I do agree that it is what leads to power and control.

The "RACIST" in the sun. Ha get it
In the play the committee sent an ambassador to the Younger family to present them with what they paid for the new house and a profit to keep them out of the neighborhood. The Youngers became hostile when the offer was made and they threw the racist out. The ignorant racist was confused by this because he saw the deal differently than the Youngers did. While the Youngers and all of us saw this as a racist deal that would only further segregate the races, the racist saw the deal as some kind of way to “keep the peace” through segregation.

Raisin in the sun
In the first act of the book the idea that the characters are driven by dreams they have either had or have. The story reveals a lot about the characters dreams and will most likely continue to do so. The poem is describing what comes of dreams being unattainable and what the person who had those dreams will do after losing ability to achieve it. The play has already presented that most of the characters won’t get what they want due to limited money and limited economic mobility. I think the reason the poem was so heavily referenced in the play is because they both share the theme of losing an idea you believed to be reachable but in reality was not.
